This page presents all my photographs and posters of Mont Blanc, this mythical summit on the border between France and Italy, between Chamonix and Courmayeur. Rising to an altitude of 4806 meters, it is often called the “roof of Europe” because it is the highest summit in Western Europe. Its first ascent dates back to 1786, the very beginnings of mountaineering! Let yourself be guided and discover all the photos of Mont Blanc by Photagne.

France or Italy?
As a Frenchman who spent many years in Italy, I must mention this amusing peculiarity and source of many debates between French and Italians. Indeed, according to Italy, the border between our two countries passes exactly at the summit of Mont Blanc, while the border line passes under the summit and places it entirely in France according to the French. The controversy concerns different interpretations of historical borders between France and Italy. I will not take sides, but I have noted that each country seems to stick to its positions without making much progress in the debate!
