On this page, I offer you a selection of photographs and posters of Mont Viso, this iconic peak of the Italian Alps. From the plain of Turin, it stands like an isolated spire, dominating all the surrounding terrain. It is a mountain that can be seen from afar—massive, solitary, fascinating.
At its feet is the birthplace of the Po River, which crosses Italy before flowing into the Adriatic Sea, 650 kilometers further on. Climbing the Viso is a long and demanding ascent, without glaciers but with many rocky passages, sometimes equipped with via ferrata or easy climbing (level II+). The reward, if the clouds don't interfere, is a spectacular view over the Alps as far as the eye can see.
I climbed this summit, lived it, photographed it. These posters of Mont Viso were born from this experience. Images captured at dawn, on the descent, or between two banks of mist — to tell, without artifice, the singular force of this mountain.
For example, I captured this shot of the summit of Viso at dusk from Rochemelon, another Italian peak accessible from the Susa Valley. I spent the night in the cold in the small hut at the summit, but the sensational 360-degree view in the evening was well worth it!
Order a poster of Mont Viso
If one of my photographs of Mont Viso particularly appeals to you, you can order a print in your preferred size. Simply click on the photograph and select the "add to cart" option in the top right corner of the screen, or click directly on the "order" button. You will then have a choice of options, such as a poster print, a framed canvas print, or a framed canvas. I have carefully selected the quality of the printing paper: it is a high-quality, glossy paper (240 gsm) ideal for photography. It will brilliantly capture the depth of color contrasts characteristic of the mountains.
This way, you can enhance your home with a magnificent poster of Mont Viso, captured by a French nature photographer. You'll have the opportunity to proudly display it in your living room or dining room.

Our posters are also among the least expensive on the market. If you would like a larger print, for example for your living room, three sizes are available:
- Small : 20 x 30 cm
- Medium : 40 x 60 cm
- Big : 60 x 90 cm

My ascent of the Viso: story
I climbed Monte Viso with two friends on a beautiful September day. Here is the story of my adventure, which allowed me to capture some superb photos of this mountain.
Mont Viso, on the edge of the void
We got up in the middle of the night. Three headlamps, light bags, the simple desire to climb Monte Viso. At this hour, all is silence. No photos, no breaks—just keep moving. The via ferrata is done in the dark, not a word too much, just the clinking of metal against rock.
Dawn finally breaks. It doesn't scream, it glides. The ridges gently light up, the shadows recede. We move from one technical passage to another. Our bodies are focused, our minds elsewhere. At that moment, I don't have the mind to shoot. I'm in the mountains, not behind the camera.
We reach the summit. The sky is clear, the view immense. No photos yet. Just being there.
It's further down, on the descent, that the moment emerges. I look up. The summit of Mount Viso slowly disappears into the clouds, swallowed by a thick mist. We narrowly missed it. I stop, frame, and shoot. And here's my best photo of Mount Viso.
This shot is the trace of a suspended moment. Not a simple black and white mountain photo. Rather, a raw memory: the effort, the light, the silence... and the fleeting beauty of a summit that we thought would last forever, but which is already hidden.
