Shepherd's huts on the way up from Grasse

Haut Montet, as its name suggests, largely dominates Grasse and its surroundings. It is possible to do the hike for the day starting from Grasse, although it is a bit long. For a shorter tour to the summit, you can go see this way. From the station, you shouldn't miss a tour of the old town which is very beautiful. You then have to cross a few residential areas before arriving on the GR4. This rises regularly passing through a series of plateaus with sparse vegetation.

Haut Montet and its (superb) radar

Once at the Col du Clapier, you must follow the ridge to reach Haut Montet from where you have a beautiful view of Grasse and the seaside, notably Cannes and Antibes. We were lucky enough to see Corsica thanks to the purity of the sky that day!

Gourdon in the evening from Haut Montet

You then have to go back down towards Gourdon, a beautiful village perched on top of a hill. When joining the road, a solution to shorten the (less interesting) end of the hike is to hitchhike. As it was getting dark, we didn't hesitate too long before choosing this option! Otherwise, you have to follow a path on the side before going back down through the residential part of Grasse.

Photagne

I started photography in 2015 during a trip to Hawaii. Since then, I have devoted myself to landscape photography during my many mountain treks.
