Flowering willowherb in the Ardèche. This pioneer plant colonizes open spaces—roadsides, clearings, old clearings—and in the Ardèche, it sometimes grows in dense colonies that transform an ordinary landscape into a vibrant pink carpet. This photograph was composed so that the flowers and the background interact, with the Ardèche summer light highlighting the stems without overpowering the colors.
