Heading towards Valgaudemar. Valgaudemar is one of the wildest valleys in the Écrins massif—steep, sparsely frequented, with peaks over 3,000 meters towering above it on all sides. This photo was taken from the heights during a bivouac traverse of the Écrins, just as the valley was revealing itself after a long day's hike.
